FAQs

Are sessions virtual or in person?

August Mental Health is currently a fully virtual practice.

You can attend sessions from wherever you feel comfortable and have privacy, as long as you are physically located in Georgia at the time of your appointment.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we currently accept Cigna, Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Carelon Behavioral Health, and Curative.

Self-pay is also available for clients who prefer not to use insurance. Please reach out if you have questions about payment options before scheduling.

The self-pay rate for a 50-minute individual therapy session is $150.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes! We offer a brief consultation before beginning therapy. This gives us a chance to talk about what you're looking for, answer questions, and determine whether working together feels like a good fit.

What if I need help between sessions?

Therapy at August Mental Health is outpatient care and is not designed to provide 24/7 or emergency support.

If you're experiencing an immediate emergency or believe you may be in danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. In the U.S., you can also call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

What is therapy with you like?

My approach is collaborative, conversational, and individualized.

We'll make space to understand why certain patterns are happening while also developing practical ways to navigate them differently. Depending on what you need, that might mean exploring patterns, challenging unhelpful beliefs, building coping and communication skills, examining relationships, or figuring out what you actually want outside of other people's expectations.

Therapy isn't another place where you need to perform or get everything "right."

Still have questions?

It's okay to ask.

Starting therapy is a big decision, and you're welcome to ask questions before deciding whether August feels right for you.
